Our Work

At the core of why we do what we do is advocacy. We do this by building relationships with government and stakeholders, lobbying on member-driven priorities, and participating in communities of practice and working groups. Students are the next generation of leaders in our province and it is essential that they have a voice at the table in forging the path forward.

ASEC and its member institutions are located on the traditional territories of Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, and the five territories of the Métis Nation within Alberta. We honour the enduring presence, stewardship, and teachings of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, past, present, and future, including their Elders and Knowledge Keepers. We offer this acknowledgment in gratitude and as an act of reconciliation, recognizing the colonial legacies of post-secondary education and committing to move forward together.
